Hunting Kentucky Whitetail Deer

Pinch Points and funnels are placed where Whitetail Deer travel routes narrow.  Often Deer trails converge where several Whitetail trails run together as well.  When Whitetail trails pinch and cover is limited Whitetail Deer will often quickly travel through but they multiply the number of deer you will see.

Whitetail hunters often place their treestands too close to the deer trails or pinch points.   Try to find a branching tree about 10-15 yards from the Whitetail Deer trail to place your deer stand.  If you attempt to place your deer stand too close you risk being seen by that trophy Whitetail and having your scent detected.  Whitetail Deer look down a trail and only occasionally to the sides and deer especially lock their attention on the trail if it is making a turn in the trail.  When you can find a funnel where several Whitetail Deer trails pinch together and go around a turn, attempt to find a branching tree down wind of these Whitetail Deer trails and you should be successful if you are careful about how you enter and exit your Whitetail Deer stand.

Remember that if your scent is detected getting into the Whitetail Deer stand that you will spoil the area if trophy Whitetail Deer are there.
