Putting that treestand in the right place which is the right tree in your Deer hunting area is a function of scouting the Deer hunting area first for that perfect tree. But the number of hours you put in your treestand is a function of how comfortable the treestand is and how determined you are to stay in your Deer stand. If you want a trophy Whitetail Deer then you must spend hours in your tree stand. There is no certain time when your Deer will come by. So the more hours spent in a treestand the more chances you will have to take that Whitetail Deer home.

In hunting Deer from a tree stand you have to Deer hunt until your seat hurts... unless you have a good stand that is comfortable. If your treestand is uncomfortable you won't be hunting very long. If your treestand skylines you, then sitting in the stand places you away from the tree trunk where Deer will see you and scatter. So the tree stand seat must allow you to put it up against the tree or push it back to the tree when it comes time to stand close to the tree and shoot.

Placing the Deer stand in a branched tree will help to break up your outline but the tree stand must be comfortable or you won't simply won't stay still or stay in that tree stand. Weight, strength and safety are factors that you want in a tree stand that is portable. Portable treestands allow you to change to another tree stand location if you need to due to a change in wind direction or other Deer hunting conditions.
