Hunting Kentucky White tail Deer

Pinch Points are placed where white tail travel routes narrow.  Often deer trails converge where several white tail trails run together as well.  When deer trails pinch and cover is limited deer will often quickly travel through but they will also multiply the number of deer you will see

White tail hunters often place their treestand too close to the deer trail.   Try to find a branching tree about 10-15 yards from the deer trail to place your white tail stand.  If you attempt to place your deer stand too close you risk being seen by that trophy white tail and having your scent detected.  Deer look down a trail and only occasionally to the sides and white tails  especially lock their attention on the trail if it is making a turn.   When you can find a funnel where several white tail trails pinch together and go around a turn, attempt to find a branching tree down wind of these deer trails and you should be successful if you are careful about how you enter and exit your deer stand.

Remember that if your scent is detected getting into the deer stand that you will spoil the area even if trophy white tails are there.
